SADFinder started as a personal frustration with Finder. Chris Barin wanted a native Mac file manager with an editable path bar, reliable tabs, familiar keyboard controls, and proper window snapping. The original plan was to build it once for himself and stop complaining.
What shipped is the file manager he wanted to use every day: a fully native macOS app that stays fast on huge folders, with close attention to how it responds under your hands. The desktop app sends no file names, paths, contents, folder structure, or record of what you do with your files anywhere.
