Changelog

0.1.74

The Delete key,
finally yours.

Press ⌫ and the file is in the Trash — no chord required. Go up a level with ⌥↑, exactly like Alt+Up in Explorer. Plus the Quick Look, right-click delete, and OneDrive fixes from the point releases.

New Fixed

Changes in version 0.1.74

  • New

The Delete key now deletes. Press ⌫ — the one delete key every Mac keyboard has — and the selection moves to the Trash, with the usual confirmation for bigger batches and full undo. Going up a level lives on ⌥↑ (the same Alt+Up you know from Windows Explorer) and ⌘↑. Prefer the old Backspace-goes-up? There's a switch in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts.

  • Fixed

Quick Look previews the file you actually selected — under every sort order, filter, search, and view mode.

  • Fixed

Right-click Move to Trash removes the whole selection, not just the file under the cursor.

  • Fixed

OneDrive installed from the Mac App Store is now detected, including synced SharePoint and Teams libraries.

0.1.70

Faster to find.
Smoother to switch.

Move from the Mac App Store edition without starting over, keep drag and drop dependable, find files in huge folders, and work faster with Quick Look, richer List view columns, and a more reliable Dialog Picker.

New Improved Fixed

Changes in version 0.1.70

  • Improved

Switching from the Mac App Store edition is seamless. On first launch, the standalone app brings over your favorites, tabs, theme, view settings, and completed setup, then can move the leftover App Store copy to the Trash.

  • Fixed

Drag and drop keeps working after a cloud folder reload or a temporary layout hiccup instead of silently stopping for that window.

  • Fixed

Search checks the folder in front of you before descending into large subfolders, so nearby matches are found even in folders with tens of thousands of files. If a huge search stops early, SADFinder says so clearly.

  • Improved

Keep Quick Look open while you move through a selection with the arrow keys. The preview follows along while the file list keeps keyboard focus.

  • Fixed

Make available offline now downloads online-only Dropbox files and folders reliably, reports real provider errors, and refreshes cloud badges as soon as the download finishes.

  • New

List view can show Date Created and Date Added columns. Both columns sort on click and remember your choice.

  • Improved

Refresh keeps your selection and now has two keyboard shortcuts: F5 and ⌘⇧R.

  • Improved

Properties (⌘I) now fits its most useful details on one screen, with a compact two-column layout and a one-click path copy action.

  • New

Drop files from another SADFinder window, the Desktop, or Finder straight onto the Dialog Picker to attach them to the app you are using.

  • Improved

Dialog Picker is steadier with busy apps and multiple file dialogs: it retries interrupted scans, stays with the dialog you actually opened, and no longer pulls unrelated SADFinder windows forward.

  • Fixed

Folders containing camera RAW files no longer crash while SADFinder creates thumbnails or opens Properties.

  • Fixed

Hiding Finder's desktop icons now takes effect reliably when SADFinder controls the Desktop.

  • Fixed

Renaming stays responsive in List view, even in folders with thousands of items.

  • Improved

Trash now includes items deleted from external drives. Without Full Disk Access, SADFinder clearly explains when external Trash items are hidden and links to the right setting.

0.1.51

Everyday file work,
just got smoother.

Save files with Dialog Picker, find the same useful actions wherever you right-click, follow large transfers at a glance, and browse cloud folders without false “empty” messages.

New Improved Fixed

Changes in version 0.1.51

  • New

Dialog Picker now works with Save windows too. Type the file name, browse to the folder you want, and save — all from the same familiar SADFinder window.

  • Improved

Right-click menus are now consistent in List view, Icon view, on the Desktop, and in the sidebar. Useful actions such as Quick Look, Open With, Duplicate, Refresh, and Properties are easier to find.

  • Improved

When you copy or move large files, SADFinder now shows the transfer speed and an estimate of the time left.

  • Fixed

Online-only folders now show their files instead of looking empty. If your cloud service needs a moment, SADFinder lets you know.

  • Fixed

Reveal in Finder works again, even when SADFinder is set as your default file browser.

  • Fixed

List view stays smooth and responsive, even when you browse large folders or reopen the app.

  • Improved

Dialog Picker now tells you when a required Mac permission is missing, so setup no longer fails without an explanation.

  • Fixed

Starting a free trial or activating a license is clearer: SADFinder shows the right action at the right time, and the trial still needs no card.
